Remember, SYSCO, the giant US distributor started out small... HUH ??

Remember, SYSCO, the giant US distributor started out small. When I read this, I actually said, "What a smart guy to think of that?" But this line really made think. It just didn't sit well with me after a full meal. So I thought and thought and thought. Then I said, "Don't all giants start out small?" Andre, IBM, Google. After all, didn't Page and Brin actually start out small. After all, they weren't giants when they were first going to Montessori many years ago.

As I though about the line, I just started to laugh and I was eventually in stitches. In fact, my giant body parts (OK, we won't go there) actually started out small just like good old Sysco.

This line was actually written by a brilliant prognosticator on Nascent Food Service.

He asks, "If SYSCO was able to do $33 billion last year, how long will it be before, just for starters, Nascent hits the $3 billion mark?"

Am I supposed to answer that?

The problem is that I actually think Nascent's a real company.
